The travel retailer also announced that starting on 1 May, the Duty Free Philippines outlet at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 departure will be open 24/7.
Duty Free Philippines was founded on 2 May 1987, as an attached agency of the Department of Tourism, catering to duty-free shopping needs of international tourists, returning Filipino travellers and overseas Filipino workers.
In 2012, The Moodie Davitt Report published ‘Duty Free Philippines 25 Years – Aquino to Aquino’, a coffee table book that celebrated the travel retailer’s 25th anniversary.
The book chronicled the state-owned company’s extraordinary history and included a welcome message from the country’s then-President Benigno S. Aquino III.
The book was written and edited by The Moodie Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie with great assistance from the Duty Free Philippines ‘Coffee Table Book Committee’, several of whom still work for the company. ✈
