Duty Free Philippines opens latest outlet at Bacolod-Silay International

PHILIPPINES. Duty Free Philippines (DFP) has opened its latest store at Bacolod-Silay International Airport in the province of Negros Occidental, according to local news reports, subsequently confirmed with the company. The Arrivals store will offer liquor, tobacco and confectionery.

The opening supports the Department of Tourism’s drive to improve tourism infrastructure in the region, with Bacolod-Silay targeted as an emerging travel destination. DFP is a division of the Department of Tourism.

A news report in the Visayan Daily Star quoted DFP Store Manager Shelley Sanico as saying that the store would provide a convenient shopping option for Overseas Filipino Workers, balikbayans and foreign tourists, who have little time to shop in Manila due to tight flight connections.
