ELECTRONICS & CAMERAS: MINOX breaks the mould with a world novelty – CANNES LAUNCH

GERMANY MINOX – the traditional German camera manufacturer – launches a world novelty in the MINOX DD1 digital, a new round design developed in cooperation with Volkswagen Design.

MINOX is a name that has always meant exclusiveness and miniaturised precision electronics, not least because of the legendary MINOX spy camera. Precision that fits into every pocket – that is the strategy that the company follows today.

At just 120g and measuring 75mm in diameter, the MINOX DD1 is considered a new milestone in camera aesthetics. “Digital technology gives us the opportunity to depart from the typical, well-known camera design,” said MINOX managing director Thorsten Kortemeier.

The body of the DD1 (pictured) is shaped as a round and flat basic form. The heart of the camera, the lens, is the core element and also forms the major component in the quality chain. The stylish shutter release, battery compartment and USB connection are arranged as marked features on the outer edge of the camera body.

The 3.1 million pixel memory chip and refined electronics, the specially developed software and fully 3-element multi-coated lens combine to create bright images and natural rendition.

The MINOX Digital Camera DD1 is available now in travel retail and can be seen on the MINOX Stand N13, Mediterranean Village during TFWA World Exhibition.
