Every year – as part of a week-long marketing meeting – Essence holds a team-building event, to support its local community. Last year the company spent a day at the Green Urban Living Center at Miami Dade College North campus.

In 2014 the Essence team, comprising 52 Miami-based employees and 12 from abroad, volunteered to clean the Albert Pallot Park, located on the Midtown Miami shoreline by the Julia Tuttle bridge. Essence described the day as a “fun and rewarding experience”. Moreover, the company donated US$5,000 to the Surfrider Foundation.
