EssilorLuxottica and Moncler sign exclusive licensing agreement

On 22 November, Italian fashion brand Moncler entered an exclusive licensing agreement with eyewear specialist EssilorLuxottica, effective January 2024.

Remo Ruffini has been at the helm of Moncler since 2003

This agreement, valid until December 2028 with an automatic five-year renewal option, grants EssilorLuxottica responsibility for the design, production and global distribution of Moncler eyewear.

The first Moncler Lunettes collection produced with EssilorLuxottica will be Fall/Winter 2024, which will be available next September. It will be available online and offline at Moncler boutiques, EssilorLuxottica stores and via selected opticians worldwide.

This partnership will leverage EssilorLuxottica’s consolidated experience and innovation to elevate the Moncler Lunettes collection, which is renowned for its blend of functionality and contemporary aesthetics. The range will feature frames suitable for both urban and off-the-grid lifestyles.

As reported, Moncler worked alongside travel retail consultancy 2.0 & Partners to open a travel retail outlet at London Heathrow Airport in March

Moncler Chairman and CEO Remo Ruffini said, “With the introduction of the new Moncler Lunettes collections, Moncler’s style will seamlessly merge with EssilorLuxottica’s know-how in eyewear, delivering a product at the forefront of design, innovation and quality.”

EssilorLuxottica Chairman and CEO Francesco Milleri remarked: “We have long admired Moncler as a brand that shares our equal passion for innovation and style, not to mention our ‘born in the mountains’ heritage.

“Our teams are thrilled to embark on this journey to design and develop a novel eyewear collection that truly reflects the special Moncler brand.”
