Estée Lauder gets arty with Pleasures – 31/01/06

UK. Estée Lauder has extended its Pleasures fragrance franchise with a one-shot Artist’s Edition, designed by painter, illustrator and fashion chronicler Ruben Toledo. It was launched into travel retail this month.

“Ruben Toledo was the perfect artist to illustrate the heart and soul of Pleasures,” explained Estée Lauder Senior Vice President Global Creative Directions Aerin Lauder. “He is an iconic illustrator and his design for the Pleasures Artist’s Edition bottle truly reflects a woman’s desire to experience life’s little pleasures every day.”

Both the flacon and the outer carton of the Pleasures Artist’s Edition feature a brightly-coloured pattern designed to evoke a “magical and whimsical garden”¦where fun and adventure await”. The colour-scheme is a mix of hot pink, orange and blue.

The outer packaging also carries Toledo’s signature, plus the quote (in both English and French): “Art is a pleasure in my life and life at its best is full of pleasures.”
