Ever Rich Duty Free extends web pre-order pick-up to Songshan Airport

TAIPEI. Ever Rich Duty Free has extended services for its online pre-order business by including a pick-up counter at Songshan Airport. Ever Rich Duty Free launched pre-order services through its website in 2016 and until now, pick-up has only been available at Taoyuan International Airport.

Duty free goods can be ordered seven days before departure via the Ever Rich Duty Free Online portal, which has shown a +45% leap in sales year-on-year in the first half of 2019, according to the retailer. The company said it expects to double sales across the full year compared to 2018, partly by recruiting new members, with a target of 1 million by the end of 2019.

To mark the extension of the service to a new location from August, Ever Rich Duty Free has launched a special promotional campaign.

From 26 August to 14 November, the retailer is offering NT$400 (just under US$13) cash back for every purchase of NT$7,500 (US$250) made via pre-order online. With additional discounts on credit card payments and special promotional prices, savings run to around -30% off key products and gift sets from around 80 brands, said Ever Rich Duty Free.

In addition to online-only discounts and Ever Rich Duty Free exclusive gifts, special discount days take place on the 7th, 17th and 27th of each month during the campaign. Ever Rich gifts include a 2020 calendar book for those who spend NT$5,000 (US$167) or more online. These travellers have a further chance to win luxury gifts by scanning a QR code inside each calendar. Those who spend NT$20,000 (US$400) or more with Ever Rich Duty Free Online receive a mini travel bag.

The company said: “The primary mission of Ever Rich is to surpass passengers’ expectations and provide services that are in line with international standards.

“Under this concept, Ever Rich Duty Free Online was born. Breaking time and space constraints, the airport duty free shops will be moved to the passenger’s computer and mobile devices to provide 24/7 service. As long as there are aircraft taking off and landing, Ever Rich employees will provide the pick-up service for the pre-ordered goods.”

Highlighting tourism growth in the territory last year, with figures hitting 11 million, and strong passenger growth at Songshan Airport, where traffic reached a record 6.2 million in 2018, Ever Rich said that it was reacting to changing consumers and growth in demand.

It said: “Ever Rich continues to be innovative and combine digital trends such as e-commerce and mobile payment to create a more convenient and efficient service model, and provide customers with a new service experience.”

Ever Rich Duty Free President Kevin Chiang said the company aimed to provide “more convenient and thoughtful services to enhance the competitive advantage” of the travel retail business in the territory. In so doing it also aims to strengthen the tourism industry, he added.
