TAIWAN. Ever Rich Duty Free Shop’s 2017 CSR report has received international certification with GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) 4.0. The retailer has also received food safety and information security certifications.
To celebrate the recognitions, Ever Rich Duty Free partnered with the National Taiwan Ocean University to organise the ‘Thrive in One Name 2017 CSR+ Roundtable Forum’, which promoted the retailer’s CSR+ initiative.
CSR+ was created to extend the core values of CSR (economy, environment and society) and combine them with Chinese traditional values of integrity, professionalism, innovation and public welfare.
Ever Rich’s 2017 CSR report represents the retailer’s efforts to upgrade its services and business model and how CSR should be improved to meet the future sustainability trends and goals.
The ‘Thrive in One Name 2017 CSR + Roundtable Forum’ focused on the new structure of the themes of integrity, professionalism, innovation and public welfare.
Bureau Veritas (BV Group) Director of Verification Services Division Hubert de Bonafos, Sustainable Energy Research Foundation Chairman Dr. Eugene Jian and National Taiwan Ocean University Vice President Mr. Ji-kao Zhuang were key note speakers at the forum.
Other speakers included film director Nianzhen Wu, university business school professor Ruihua Li and Ministry of Finance Head of the Department for the Promotion of Private Participation Hsiou-shih Wang, who commented on the importance of professionalism using the cooperation between government, airports and retailers as an example.
Famous writer Kexiang Liu, Taiwanese designer Qingyang Xiao, TED Taipei Founder Jason Hsu and Social Enterprise Commitment Foundation Chairman Kai Ma were invited to talk about public welfare and creativity.
Ever Rich Duty Free Shop Chairman Simon Chiang expressed his gratitude to all those who are interested in CSR issues during his opening speech. He said: “Over the past few years, Ever Rich has received numerous international awards including the ACI International Airport Association, Skytrax and others, showing that the implementation of CSR and upholding the “integrity, professional, innovative, public welfare” business philosophy is the right things to do.
“We will continue to promote the idea of “cycle of goodness”, and hope that through our voice, we attract more enterprises to commit to their social responsibilities.”
