Fashion company Desigual records +16.2% leap in annual turnover

INTERNATIONAL. Spanish fashion brand Desigual has recorded turnover of €963.5 million in the financial year ending 31 December 2014, a +16.2% increase on the previous year.

The company sold more than 31 million items worldwide, with women’s fashion and accessories the main drivers of growth, accounting for around 60% and 20% of sales respectively.

While its five key European markets achieved double-digit growth, Desigual also described its growth outside these markets as “extraordinary”, with Asia sales surging by +24%.

Spain continues to be Desigual’s main focus and primary market, contributing more than 20% of the brand’s total sales.

In 2014, Desigual opened more than 100 stores globally, entering new markets including Canada, Peru and Luxembourg. It also expanded online sales to include Russia and Canada.
