The updated Swiss Chocolate Fondue Pot 300g |
SWITZERLAND. Favarger, one of the two specialist Swiss nougat manufacturers, will present three different nougat lines at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Stand number: Riviera Village RE11).
Updating The Moodie Report with the Swiss confectioner’s latest travel retail news coming out of Asia, Favarger Marketing Manager Claudia Jaermann said: “Favarger’s travel retail business is growing in the Asia Pacific region. Customers have listed the new products we launched in Singapore last May, and I have already had a good result, especially with the Laboîte Suisse 240g.
Detailing a major new chocolate promotion with King Power, she continued: “New Favarger Chocolate Fondue promotional activity will be held at Singapore Changi Airport within King Power stores for the whole month of November. Our main focus next year will be on Asia, and I am in negotiation with potential distributors and important meetings are scheduled in Cannes.”
New listings are also expected with major retailers in China and Thailand, reported Jaermann.
Favarger’s Swiss nougat
Explaining the USP of Favarger’s Swiss nougat, Jaermann told The Moodie Report: “Our recipes differ from those of French style Montelimar, as they have a crunchier texture, although not as hard as the Italian ‘torrone’. So the ultra-fine Favarger nougats are the fruit of the company’s savoir-faire, like its other confectionery specialities such as the Avelines, Nougalines or the Favarger chocolate fondue.”
Detailing the mouth-watering and traditionally-made recipe, Jaermann continued: “The nougat mainly consists of a blend of glucose syrup, sugar, egg-white, with almonds added to the mixture. The sugar, which has been heated to over 130 degrees, and the beaten egg white are mixed together to form a meringue, to which the other ingredients are then added. To prepare this delicacy, Favarger uses copper bowls, the traditional way of doing things.”
Favarger nougats, which are made at Versoix, in Switzerland, are wrapped in the form of mouthful-sized sweets, and packaged in 180g closable sachets.
