Ferrero stages a Kinder-fest at Munich Airport

The Kinder promotion at Munich Airport featured the Kinderino mascot alongside fixtures carrying the full Kinder range


GERMANY. Ferrero’s Kinder chocolate brand was in the spotlight at Munich Airport in a month-long shop-in-shop promotion during June.

Kinderino, the Kinder Surprise egg-shaped mascot, carried a selection of national flags, and customers could choose a Kinderino with the flag of the country they supported.

Alongside Kinderino were red and white wall-bays and gondolas featuring the full Kinder range, including Kinder Bueno, Kinder Country, Kinder Chocolate, SchokoBons and Kinder Surprise 5+1 multi-packs with football branding which are exclusive to travel retail.

Ferrero also offered a Kinder shoulder-bag as a gift to customers spending more than €15 on Kinder chocolates.

At the heart of the display was a pyramid of gold-coloured Ferrero Rocher pralines.

Ferrero ran the promotion in the Departures store in Terminal 2 throughout June.

Ferrero Trading SA Travel Market Division Marketing Manager Serge van Wijck said: “This Kinder-fest staged at Munich Airport brought great visibility to the brand. Customers were drawn to the displays by staff offering samples and the result was significantly increased sales across our Kinder ranges.”
