Ferrero Travel Market to introduce Kinder and Nutella biscuits

Ferrero Travel Market is set to launch biscuits from its renowned Kinder and Nutella brands into travel retail.

The Kinder Cards and Nutella Biscuits lines have  enjoyed a positive consumer response from limited exposure in selected European domestic markets over the last three years.

That encouraging reaction has prompted Ferrero to introduce the range in airports, borders stores and on ferries where the company says passengers often look for snacks suitable for young and adults alike.

The Italian confectioner’s travel retail debut in the sector comes under the La Biscotteria umbrella branding. The line-up includes Kinder Cards (a pack of three), and two Nutella Biscuits references (T22 and T12).

The biscuits will be revealed at TFWA World Exhibition (Bay Village, Bay 8), followed by a global roll-out in November.

Targeting children and the ‘young at heart’, Kinder Cards – in the shape of a playing card – combine the Kinder creamy milk and chocolate flavour with a wheat biscuit. Nutella biscuits come in two formats: a traditional round shape with two biscuits and a Nutella filling, and individually packaged bar shapes with a biscuit shell filled with Nutella. All are available in snack size portions.

General Manager Sergio Salvagno said: “Ferrero Travel Market has identified the biscuit category as a market that has exciting potential for our renowned Kinder and Nutella brands.

“How often have you reached for a crunchy biscuit on which to spread some creamy Nutella as the ideal accompaniment for your coffee or afternoon tea? Now you have a choice of creamy biscuits from La Biscotteria, ready-made and easy to carry, as the most delicious snack.”
