The Grooming Lounge has devised a way to lessen the frustration of product confiscation via its website |
US. Men’s grooming specialist The Grooming Lounge has come up with a way to counteract the inconvenience of men having products confiscated by airport security.
The firm is offering men a free shaving product upon showing an airline ticket stub from that day or the day before at its barbershop/spa headquarters in downtown Washington DC.
Inconvenienced flyers can go online at www.groominglounge.com and receive a coupon for 20% off products to help replenish their confiscated grooming supplies. To receive the discount, online shoppers have to enter their flight number in the comment section and enter “confiscated” in the coupon code.
Explaining the initiative, A Grooming Lounge spokeswoman said: “We are of course concerned with the safety of airline passengers and understand the need for the new ‘no liquids (or any non-solid) in carry-on bags rule’, but we are also concerned for the men that have had their grooming products confiscated while on their way to important events.”

After four years of testing, the company released a complete line of shaving products in September 2005 and, in early 2006, a line of custom-made skin care products will follow. A new barbershop/spa location recently opened in Northern Virginia and one is scheduled to open later this year in Miami.
