GERMANY. Canada Goose has joined forces with Frankfurt Airport Retail (FAR) – the joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and airport company Fraport – to open a store at Frankfurt Airport Teminal 1.
The boutique is the brand’s first airport store, marking Canada Goose’s official debut in the channel.
As reported, Canada Goose appointed highly respected executive Christian Konrad* as Senior Vice President Travel Retail earlier this year. His appointment came amid a concerted expansion drive in what the company has identified as a key growth channel.
Founded in Toronto over 65 years ago, Canada Goose has grown into one of the world’s leading makers of performance luxury apparel, driven by its core down-filled product made in Canada. Its year-round product offering spans all seasons and lifestyles for men, women and children. ![]() |
“Canada Goose’s first-ever airport travel retail store is a milestone, and I am excited to unveil it to the world,” Konrad said.
“We know luxury consumers seek us out when they’re travelling so being available to them as they take off on their next adventure presents a meaningful opportunity for us. Frankfurt is only just the beginning.
“Gebr. Heinemann is a true travel retail expert. Their team has shown great dedication to our brand and have played an important role in successfully ushering in this new chapter.”
FAR Managing Director Georg Fuhrmann commented: “We are very proud to celebrate a true world premiere with the opening of the new store and to join Canada Goose on its entry into the travel retail market.”
“The busy Terminal 1 is the optimal environment to reach luxury shoppers, offering travellers a highlight with its wide product range,” added FAR Co-managing Director Richard Hoyer.
The Frankfurt Airport boutique features Canada Goose’s current collection which includes parkas, lightweight rain and wind jackets, fleece and knitwear and accessories from waist packs and beanies to gloves and scarves.
The store design complements the brand’s global store network, combining performance luxury with a clean and modern aesthetic and materials such as stone, granite and wood.
Gebr. Heinemann Director of Purchasing Fashion, Accessories, Watches and Jewellery Jan Richter said: “Canada Goose has taken an important strategic step by launching a completely new distribution channel. Our reputation as a reliable and trustworthy partner has enabled us to take this step together with the brand.
“The cooperation between FAR, Canada Goose and Gebr. Heinemann has been very constructive and cooperative, and we are very happy to be able to expand our spectacular assortment with such an important luxury player.”
