Former Spanish Prime Minister to speak at TFWA – 31/08/05

FRANCE. José María Aznar, the former President of the Spanish Government and Prime Minister of Spain, will be speaking at the TFWA World Exhibition Conference in Cannes, France, on 31 October 2005.

The keynote speaker will speak about his ‘Outlook for a New Era of Trading’, including his views on the global economy, the expansion of Europe, terrorism and their collective potential impact on travel retail.

Aznar will assess the key factors driving currency fluctuations which can have such a radical impact on trade. He will look at European Community measures to stem the proliferation of imitation luxury goods and explain the current EC stance on other topical issues such as the regulation of sales of tobacco, alcohol and confectionery. Aznar will also turn to international security efforts and their effects on airports, travel and consumer confidence.

The TFWA World Exhibition Conference will be opened at 9.30am on Monday 31 October in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals by TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen who will summarise the current status of the travel retail and duty free industry.

Entrance to the conference is included in the TFWA World Exhibition pre-registration package and over 600 delegates are expected to attend
