ITALY. Italian fashion brand Fornarina launches its first bag collection, starting with the Autumn/Winter 2005/06 season. Fornari group, which owns the Fornarina brand, has signed a licensing deal with leathergoods manufacturer Principe.
GSM: gestione sviluppo marchi (Brand Development Management) will take on both the production and the distribution of the new collection, but the products will be designed by Fornarina.
This September, Principe celebrates 50 years’ experience in manufacturing leathergoods. The company boasts several licence agreements with prestigious brands, including Cerruti 1881 (signed in 1995) and Diesel (1998). Its sales network spans more than 40 countries.
Fornarina aims to achieve a turnover of €22 million in the next three years thanks to distribution in more than 2,500 specialist stores in Europe, the US, Canada and Japan. It began as a shoe brand, followed by clothing and now bags and small leathergoods.
