Fossil brand turns to the classics in first Swiss timepiece collection

The Fossil Swiss Collection

US-based watch manufacturer Fossil Inc introduced the first Swiss-made timepieces for its Fossil brand to the global market in February 2013.

The Fossil Swiss Collection is said to unite the creative and innovative designs of Fossil with centuries-old Swiss watchmaking tradition.

The range is available in Fossil stores and will be available through selected retail partners beginning this Fall. Prices run from US$695 to US$995.

“Fossil Inc has had a long-standing commitment to the Swiss watchmaking industry, and has created several Swiss watches for its licensed partners,” the company said. “This debut marks their first entry into Swiss manufacturing for the Fossil brand itself.”

The collection features automatic watches and chronographs in a classically designed five-piece case construction. This collection also features day-date timepieces. A double-domed sapphire crystal provides
scratch-resistant performance.

A domed dial with delicately applied numerals at the 12 and 6 positions, and rectangular indexes give these watches a refined look, while curved hands at the hour, minute and second positions further feature the precision of design.

Styles in this collection feature either a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet.

Automatic watches come with an exhibition case back so that the workmanship can be seen.
