Frankfurt Airport pioneers digital screen network for ads

The new Digital Premium Network of advertising screens in waiting hall B at Frankfurt Airport

GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport has become the first air traffic hub in Germany and Europe to offer a network of 70in flat-screen monitors for digital advertising campaigns.

Advertisers can run either soundless commercials or animated image sequences lasting 10 or 20 seconds in full high-definition quality on the 16 monitors of the Digital Premium Network.

The locations for the newest and biggest digital advertising medium chosen by Media Frankfurt, the advertising subsidiary of Fraport, are busy junctions in the main access areas in the piers of both terminals near the shops, duty free outlets and restaurants.

The minimum booking period is two weeks and the total daily transmission time per commercial five hours.

The first customers to use the network for their current campaigns are Lufthansa and an unnamed, leading French fashion and cosmetics company.

Media Frankfurt aims to expand the range of digital advertising facilities at Germany’s biggest airport, offering 340 digital advertising media.
