US. Swiss watchmaker Frédérique Constant and UETA have signed a distribution deal that will see the brand distributed in Duty Free Americas (DFA) and UETA stores throughout the US, Central and South America.
The initial three-year deal will also see the brand distributed via a wholesale operation that will be run through the IBW network of the Falic Group, which owns both DFA and UETA.
Peter Stas, CEO of Frédérique Constant, said: “UETA’s abilities and strengths are indisputable and they recognised the potential of the brand. We already have great distribution in the domestic market in this area and we have every confidence that UETA will build a very strong business in the travel retail ground stores. One of the most important considerations for us was their demonstrable expertise in the watch field, and their intuitive understanding of brand management.”
Leon Falic, President of UETA, commented: “UETA is looking forward to building the Frédérique Constant line of watches in the travel retail markets of the Americas. We believe that the brand is well positioned for a successful development in the Americas.”
“This agreement clearly underlines the ambition of the brand in travel retail,” said Frédérique Constant’s travel retail agent Paul Martin of Lucid Initiatives. “The initial orders are already being processed and the first ten DFA stores have been identified to take the product in April. The brand will also be exhibited for the first time on the IBW stand at the IAADFS show in Fort Lauderdale.”
