Gebr Heinemann has been investing in its Vienna operations, and notably in a recent destination concept |
AUSTRIA. Gebr Heinemann has gained a two-year extension to its existing duty free concession at Vienna International, airport group Flughafen Wien AG announced today.
The airport said that the retailer’s contract was due to expire, so called a tender for the business, finally awarding an extension that takes Gebr Heinemann up to the end of 2012.
“The tender has now been concluded, and we were able to realise a substantial increase in revenue for Flughafen Wien AG”, said Flughafen Wien AG Management Board Member Ernest Gabmann.
The contract will take the concessionaire up to the opening of Vienna Airport’s new Skylink Terminal. After a series of delays over construction, the new terminal is scheduled to become operational in the first half of 2012.
