Gebr Heinemann prepares for largest duty free store launch in Sydney

Heinemann Australia Managing Director Constantin Wiesmann says the opening is a “great milestone” for the company

AUSTRALIA. Gebr Heinemann’s 8,000sq m retail emporium at Sydney International Airport is to officially open on Friday (6 May).

It is the company’s largest duty free store and is located in the T1 International Terminal. More than 700 international and local brands will be featured alongside bespoke offerings such as a full-time wine expert and dedicated departments.

Gebr Heinemann said the shopping precinct was inspired by Sydney’s harbour, beaches and laid back ethos. It includes two dining concepts in partnership with the Trippas White Group and chef Luke Mangan along with in-store customer experiences.

Australian travel firsts include Fendi, Jimmy Choo and Zenga, while the emporium also includes a premium spirits lounge, tasting bar, gifting section, and an area targeted at male passengers called Men@Work. Here, men’s grooming products, fashion, accessories and alcohol will be offered.

“We are proud to reveal the world’s largest duty free stores here at Sydney International Airport,” said Heinemann Australia Managing Director Constantin Wiesmann.

“We bring to our new home an abundance of luxury brands at exceptional prices, and we are thrilled to deliver a world class retail experience to the local market. The opening marks a great milestone for Gebr Heinemann and the start of a long future here in Australia.”

The Moodie Davitt Report’s Peter Dowling will be on location for Friday’s opening – look out for a full report on Gebr Heinemann’s Sydney shopping precinct then.
