Glasgow Airport opens nature-inspired Lomond Lounge

UK. Glasgow Airport has opened Lomond Lounge, its fourth passenger lounge facility.

The £1.6 million (US$2 million), 4,500sq ft facility is located airside in the departures area and will operate between 5am and 9pm.

Lomond Lounge offers a wide selection of a la carte breakfast, lunch and dining options featuring Scottish produce freshly prepared by local chefs

“My team has worked incredibly hard to deliver this project and we are all immensely proud of the Lomond Lounge,” said Glasgow Airport Managing Director Mark Johnston. “Although the initial design concept images looked impressive, they don’t do it justice when you see the completed lounge.

“Given its prime location in the airport’s departures area, the lounge offers fantastic views of both the airfield and the stunning backdrop of the Campsie Fells, while raising the benchmark by providing a premium level of service and comfort. It’s a beautiful space and I’m sure our customers are going to be very impressed with everything this luxurious new facility will offer.”

The design of Lomond Lounge has been inspired by the neighbouring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It features a mix of table service for a la carte dining and more relaxed seating areas.

The lounge includes a business suite area and features charging outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, flight information displays and complimentary national newspapers and glossy magazines.

Lomond Lounge entry costs £40 (US$49) and can be booked in advance by visiting: www.glasgowairport.com. Payment can also be made on the day subject to availability.
