Glengoyne has released a new travel retail exclusive, The First Fill 25 Years, which is matured exclusively in 100% first-fill sherry casks.
It joins the Ian Macleod Distillers-owned Highland distillery’s existing travel retail range, which includes the Cask Strength, 15 Year Old Distillers Gold, 18 Year Old and 21 Year Old malts.
The First Fill 25 Years comes in a heavyweight bespoke moulded bottle with an engraved oak and metal cork stopper. It is presented in an oak case and card outer.
Ian Macleod Distillers Travel Retail Director Andy Lane said: “Matured for 25 years in 100% prestigious first-fill European oak sherry casks and bottled at 46% abv, it is a perfect balance of fine oak, traditional skills and barley dried by air – never peat – resulting in a flavour of complex spices and rich toffee with a finish that lingers long after the final drop.”
The process of using malted barley dried using only warm air is one that Glengoyne says differentiates it from most other distilleries. It also claims to runs its stills slower than any other distillery.
The First Fill 25 Years is selling in travel retail for €375/£300/US$470.
