Glow on-the-go: Shiseido Travel Retail unveils spring makeup lineup

Shiseido Travel Retail has introduced the spring makeup lineup from its four prestige brands: Nars, Laura Mercier, Shiseido, and Clé de Peau Beauté.

The new ‘technology-infused’ products capitalise on the natural beauty trend and help customers achieve a soft, glowing beauty look. The collections will be launched in travel retail in the first quarter of 2020.

Commenting on the new makeup launches, Shiseido Travel Retail Vice President Marketing and Innovation Elisabeth Jouguelet said, “The makeup segment has become the fastest-growing category within Shiseido Travel Retail and we are committed to accelerating this growth through continuous beauty innovation.

“This glow-enhancing make-up range is a result of blending consumer insights, traveller data and cutting-edge technology and is a reflection of how we fuse art and science in our products.”

Nars has launched the limited-edition Afterglow Collection, which comprises the Afterglow Lip Balm, Afterglow Eyeshadow Palette, and Overlust Cheek Palette. The range will be available this March in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa travel retail.

The Afterglow Lip Balm range is enhanced with the brand’s ‘Monoi Hydrating Complex’ which nourishes and protects lips with a super-charged blend of antioxidants. The lip balms deliver a light-weight sheer finish and come in eight shades. These are Dolce Vita, Turbo, Wicked Ways, Torrid, Fast Lane, Deep Throat, Orgasm, and Clean Cut.

Natural beauty sensation: The limited-edition Nars Afterglow Collection helps customers achieve a natural makeup look on-the-go

The limited-edition Afterglow Eyeshadow Palette offers 12 shades in matte, satin, and metallic finishes. The palette is enhanced with innovative ‘Pigment Power Suspension’ technology that delivers high-impact colour.

The Overlust Cheek Palette offers a combination of three gel-to-powder highlighters and three micronised powder blushes. The highlighters feature ‘Skin-Infused Glow’ technology which allows for easy application; while the blushes offer a silky texture and buildable colour.

Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier has revamped its popular Pure Canvas Primers Collection with a new water-based, silicone-free formula. The collection now offers five primer varieties and the new Power Primer Supercharged Essence. Each individual primer has been designed to extend makeup wear, protect against environmental aggressors and pollutants, and address specific skin concerns.

These are the Pure Canvas Primer Blurring, which offers an oil-free mattifying formula to blur skin’s appearance; the Pure Canvas Primer Hydrating, which contains marine botanicals to lock in moisture, and the Pure Canvas Primer Illumination which utilises micronised pearls and porcelain flower extracts to enhance skin luminosity.

Also included are the Pure Canvas Primer Protecting which offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 and Vitamin C and E to protect against sun damage; and the Pure Canvas Primer Perfecting which is the brand’s original skin-perfecting primer.

Flawless finish: The Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Cushion Foundation has been infused with water lily extract and diamond powder for a luminous finish

The brand has also launched the Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Cushion Foundation SPF 50 PA+++, which offers medium-to-full coverage.  The new cushion foundation is enhanced with soothing and brightening water lily extract and diamond powder to create a luminous natural-looking glow. It is available in six shades that deliver non-fading and non-creasing coverage for up to six hours.

Shiseido has launched the Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Custom Finish Powder Foundation which was made with ‘ActiveForce’ technology. The powder formula resists heat, humidity, and facial motion, and offers a lightweight finish for up to 24 hours. It has been infused with antioxidant wild thyme extract, pearl extract, and hydrating hyaluronic acid. It also features ‘Smart Correcting Powder’ technology, and 4-Fold technology which prevents pollution adhesion.

The Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Custom Finish Powder Foundation is available in Asia Pacific and Americas travel retail this March, followed by a rollout in Europe, Middle East, and Africa travel retail in May. The new foundation is available in eight shades in both APAC and EMEA travel retail, and in 14 shades in Americas travel retail

Clé de Peau Beauté

Clé de Peau Beauté has unveiled an enhanced formula for the Correcting Cream Veil, launched the Lip Glorifier lip balm range, and introduced a new shade to its the Radiance Cushion Foundation line.

The Correcting Cream Veil is equipped with SPF 25 PA ++. It has been reformulated with ‘Skin-Empowering Illuminator’ to protect against environmental aggressors, sun-damage, and skin dryness. The Cream Veil addresses skin concerns, controls shine and creasing, and prolongs foundation-wear for up to eight hours.

The Lip Glorifier range features an enhanced Skincare Tint Balm Formula that offers natural colour payoff with a range of skincare benefits. The formula is infused with Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate that prevents roughness, and botanical blend oil that moisturises lips.  It is available in three shades: pink, red, and coral.

Finally, Clé de Peau Beauté has introduced a new shade (B00) to its Radiant Cushion Foundation. The foundation contains a ‘Hydrating Essence Complex’ which prevents dryness and creates a silky effortless application. It also has ‘Soft Refocusing Powder’ that creates natural luminous coverage for up to 24 hours.

Clé de Peau Beauté’s Correcting Cream Veil, Lip Glorifier range, and Radiant Cushion Foundation are now available in travel retail worldwide.

Going strong on Globuy

As a lead business partner of The Moodie Davitt Report, Shiseido Travel Retail’s story will also appear in Chinese and with a consumer voice on fast-growing Chinese B2C WeChat social media account Globuy [玩转全球免税], as part of a new collaboration between Globuy owner Extra-Aile Media in Shanghai and The Moodie Davitt Report.

Globuy aims to become “the KOL of Chinese travel retail” and already has 400,000 followers and a monthly audience of 1 million views for its WeChat social media platform promoting new launches, product availability, promotions and special offers. Underlining the strong affinity and complementary nature of the two companies work, Globuy has dubbed The Moodie Davitt Report “the KOL of travel retail B2B media”

Under the agreement, selected stories from The Moodie Davitt Report.com’s lead brand partners in beauty, fashion, luxury, confectionery and premium spirits are also published by Globuy in Chinese. These include product reviews by the Globuy team.

Globuy is promoting The Moodie Davitt Report’s platform to China’s travel retail sector and to its own consumer audience in China. The Moodie Davitt Report subsequently also publishes a curated selection of Chinese consumer feedback on the chosen stories and will reveal the results of regular consumer surveys conducted in association with Globuy.
