Good Day lands at Wellington Airport, serving up a fresh all-day dining experience

A warm welcome for every traveller: Good Day offers a variety of food and drinks, stunning views and a place to pause

NEW ZEALAND. Wellington Airport, gateway to the nation’s capital city, has unveiled Good Day, a two-storey bar and café.

Managed by entertainment and hospitality company EVT, the airport envisions the new venue as more than “a destination in its own right”.

Open daily from 4am to 8pm, Good Day serves an extensive food & beverage menu in a refreshed dining space that highlights Wellington’s scenic views.

Wellington Airport Chief Executive Matt Clarke said, “Very few airports can match our stunning local environment and outlook, and this development makes the most of it.

“It has fantastic views across the terminal, runway and Lyall Bay. It also puts you eye-level with our spectacular bird spirit Manu Muramura, created by Wētā Workshop.”

EVT Hotels New Zealand and Pacific Country Manager Simon White noted the company’s proven expertise in customer service and hospitality, and expressed enthusiasm to run the new venue.

He said, “The EVT team have a well-established relationship with the airport, with our Rydges hotel fully integrated into the main terminal building.

“Through our deep understanding of its customers, we have a well-thought-out food & beverage offering ensuring Good Day has something for everyone – whether you need a quick coffee to manage an early morning flight, food-to-go or a delicious meal during a layover – Good Day has you covered.

“The precinct has casual dining, baked goods, café bites, savoury treats, deli selections and a burger bar; everything travellers need to make the journey as great as the destination.”

Adding 130 seats to the dining area, the new restaurant is part of a NZ$20 million retail and hospitality upgrade, which features a new duty-free operator and concept stores for technology, gifting, eyewear and beauty. ‍
