Guerlain opens the ‘ultimate boutique’ at cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex

A new jewel opens in the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex as Guerlain unveils its new standalone boutique

CHINA. LVMH-owned beauty to fragrance brand Guerlain has partnered with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) to open a new standalone boutique at the recently inaugurated cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Hainan.

The boutique opened on 28 October and offers Guerlain’s skincare, makeup and high-perfumery collections.

Described by Guerlain as the ‘Ultimate Boutique’, the store is dressed in a cream, black and gold colour palette and features several signature Guerlain motifs such as the orchid and the bee. The boutique was designed to host customer events, makeup try-on, skincare treatments and other luxury beauty experiences.

Importantly, the boutique is home to a CDF-exclusive flagship facialist suite. The luxury treatment suite offers Guerlain’s signature 90-minute facial anti-ageing treatment which combines its Blackimmune technology with traditional facial massage techniques and energy-boosting stones. The treatment boosts vitality, renews energy and enhances natural beauty. After cleansing, Guerlain Beauty Experts are on-hand to exfoliate the skin using Orchidée Impériale Black products.

Notable product highlights include Guerlain’s L’Art & La Matière and Les Matières Confidentielles fragrance collections, L’Art de Vivre Home Collection, Orchidée Impériale skincare line and Rouge G lipstick collection.

Described as ‘the Ultimate Boutique’, the Hainan flagship offers Guerlain’s hero fragrance, skincare and makeup collections

The L’Art & La Matière Collection, described as the crowning jewel of Guerlain’s haute parfumerie offer, was originally launched in 2005 and relaunched last year. The revamped range takes inspiration from the art world and features 17 eaux de parfums, which are claimed to use only the finest ingredients in the fragrance world.

The unisex L’Art & La Matière flacons, available in 100ml and 200 ml formats, were conceived as ‘objets d’art’. They pay homage to Guerlain’s heritage square bottle, originally introduced in 1870. Like the original square bottle, the new fragrance bottles were produced by French glassmakers Pochet du Courval, Guerlain’s long-standing glass partners since 1853.

(Above and below) Refinement at its most personal: Customers can personalise their L’Art & Matière fragrance bottles with 12 bottle stopper plates and different coloured tassels. They can also have them engraved with their initials.

L’Art de Vivre is a complementary line to L’Art & La Matière and offers the same fragrances in candle and diffuser formats.

The Orchidée Impériale collection was relaunched in December 2021. The refreshed 96% natural-origin formula combines maximum regeneration, naturalness and sensoriality to reduce visible signs of skin ageing for longer.

Infused with high regeneration ‘Orchid Totum’ technology, a molecular extract from the roots of two new orchids, the refreshed formula activates and extends skin cell longevity. The cream has been formulated with maximum sensoriality using Guerlain’s ‘Imperial Triad’ method.

Guerlain first introduced its hero Rouge G lipstick collection in 2009 and extended the collection with the Luxurious Velvet range last year.

The line has recently been extended to include six bold metallic finish colours, all inspired by the glints of butterfly wings. The same theme features on three new collectors’ cases.
