Guylian to unveil new flavours and travel retail exclusive tins in Cannes

Guylian is set to introduce new lines, designs and fillings at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (stand number: Mediterranean Village P13).

The Belgian chocolatier will highlight its Les Exclusives assortment box and travel retail exclusive premium tins of Sea Horse Chocolates and Perlines as well as new designs and fillings for its Opus range and three new Sea Horse flavours.

Les Exclusives offers Guylian’s most popular Belgian chocolate specialties – its signature praliné Sea Shells, La Trufflina truffles and Luxury Assortment Opus – in a 305g box (27 pieces).

The Sea Horse range includes three new flavours: Caramel, Crunchy Biscuit and Vanilla.

The Vanilla Sea Horse Chocolates (140g boxes, 16 pieces) offer a filling of white chocolate cream, flavoured with natural Madagascan vanilla.

Temperature and timing are “meticulously adjusted” to get the taste, colour and texture for the new Caramel filling, which was awarded three golden stars at the Superior Taste Awards 2014. It will be available in a 168g box containing 16 pieces.

According to Guylian, Crunchy Biscuit (or feuilletine) was discovered by mistake in 1893 by a female chef in Brittany who left a pancake on the stove; she later rolled it up, ate it and discovered a caramelised taste combined with a crunchy sensation.

“Our new Crunchy Biscuit filling is inspired by this feuilletine biscuit,” Guylian said. “It’s a unique combination of a soft filling with a hint of natural vanilla and crunchy bits of feuilletine biscuit. Together, they deliver an indulgent taste sensation from the first bite.” The chocolates were awarded three golden stars by the International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi) in 2014 and will be available in 140g boxes (16 pieces).

Guylian is also expanding its Opus assortment offering eight different fillings, with new flavours including Crunchy Biscuit, Caramel and Pear-Mango Ganache.

The Luxury Assortment Opus features new praline designs, including a mask of the Phantom of the Opera. The pralines are detailed on the side of the boxes which are available in 180g (16 pieces) and 90g (8 pieces).

Guylian is offering its award-winning Perlines and Sea Horse chocolates in premium orange tins, exclusive to travel retail. Perlines are available in a 180g tin containing 16 pieces of chocolate, while Sea Horses come in a 168g tin of 16 pieces of chocolate.

“With its matte finish, embossed logo and seahorse, this premium keepsake is a warm “˜welcome back home’ for any traveller,” Guylian stated.
