UK. Leading premium cigar manufacturer Habanos celebrated the first in-person edition of its World Days event last week (20-22 June) in London.
The celebration was also a tribute to the 55th anniversary of the Trinidad brand.
The three-day event brought together 400 guests from across the globe, featuring an array of activities and experiences highlighting the tradition and culture of Habanos and the Trinidad brand.
Aside from exclusive events, food and wine pairings, guests witnessed the roll-out of the 2024 Trinidad Cabildos Edición Limitada. The event also included a charity auction to raise funds for the company’s chosen beneficiary.
The event kicked off with a classic garden party, inspired by the Cuban tradition and featuring music, cocktails, gourmet food and Habanos.
Among the highlights of the day was the relaunch of the Trinidad Robustos Extra, originally released in 2004. The plan to bring back these cigars was announced during the previous edition of the Habanos Festival, in addition to the Trinidad Fundadores.
Day two was dedicated to a conference featuring renowned figures of the Cuban cigar industry and the Habanos business, as well as an exhibition on Trinidad and its rare releases.
During the day, the company offered samples of vitola ranges, including Trinidad Reyes, Trinidad Media Luna and Trinidad Topes.

The programme also included the presentation of the winning proposals for the Perfect Trinidad Pairing contest from Antonios Giannousakis and Robert Tomko from Birley Cigars.

In addition the Trinidad Tasting Time was held, featuring 55 tastings in 55 different locations in the UK, all focusing on the brand.
The event culminated with a gala dinner at the Victoria & Albert Museum, a black-tie evening to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Trinidad brand and the launch of the 2024 Trinidad Cabildos Limited Edition.

Habanos invited guests to be the first to sample the Trinidad Vigía.

Habanos Co-President of Luis Sánchez-Harguindey Pardo de Vera said: “It is an honour to celebrate with aficionados from around the world the excellence and tradition of Trinidad within the framework of one of our most innovative and international events as a corporation, the Habanos World Days.
“We toast not only to the legacy of the brand but to a promising future filled with distinction and innovation, and these world premiere launches are a way of expressing gratitude to our aficionados whose loyalty drives us to continue offering them the best.”
The event also featured a charity auction of five exclusive humidors, among which was the Trinidad 55th Anniversary Fundadores Vintage 10 humidor by Charaf Tajer & S.T. Dupont (No.0001). As reported, the commemorative release contains 55 numbered Trinidad Fundadores Vintage 10 cigars and production is limited to 1,000 copies.
A total of €5.15 million (US$5.53 million) was raised, with the Fundadores Vintage 10 by S.T. Dupont humidor being sold for the highest amount at €2.5 million (US$2.68 million).
The proceeds will be donated to the Cuban Public Health System. ✈
