USA. Distributor Haleybrooke International has announced it is to represent Freixenet Cavas, the top-selling imported sparkling wine brand, in USA duty free.
In addition, Haleybrooke will assume the agency for the Freixenet-owned René Barbier line of quality table wines from Spain. René Barbier wines are sold in over 70 countries, with the US, Sweden, the UK and Japan being the major markets.
Commenting on the Freixenet deal, Haleybrooke International President Patrick Nilson said: “I am very pleased to have reached an agreement with Gonzalo Lopez de Ceballos of Freixenet to represent this fine line of cavas and thankful to Lars and Beverly Johansson of Imagination Unlimited International (IUI) for the introduction to the company management.”
Freixenet was previously handled by IUI before the company decided to focus on Inniskillin and the other brands from wine group Vincor.

The Wall Street Journal named Freixenet “Best of Tasting” and a “Best Value” in a recent sampling of sparkling wines from around the world. USA Today called Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut in the black frosted bottle “a truly remarkable sparkler for the money”.
