Hamad International Airport welcomes its own signature scent and debut chocolate line from The Fragrance Kitchen

QATAR. Hamad International Airport (HIA) has launched Kuwaiti entrepreneur Sheikh Majed Al Sabah’s debut chocolate line from his successful The Fragrance Kitchen (TFK) label through Qatar Duty Free.

The launch of the ‘Flavors’ line took place besides the airport’s famous Lamp Bear last month (pictured below). The luxury scented chocolates are shaped like perfume blotters with four flavours that complement TFK’s perfume scents.

HIA welcomed hundreds of guests to witness the unveiling at the new TFK boutique, which will be the exclusive home to Sheikh Majed’s products for the rest of the year.

The launch included performance by a traditional Kuwaiti band and musicians. All guests received TFK perfume and chocolate gifts, allowing them to be among the first consumers to sample Flavors.

“We collaborated with a chocolate artist from Torino, Italy to transform TFK scents into flavors – through this transformation Flavors chocolates were born,” said Sheikh Majed, who is also a renowned social media influencer.

On the scent of the airport experience

During the event, Sheikh Majed also announced an intriguing partnership between TFK and Hamad International Airport to create an exclusive perfume with a difference. The fragrance will be named after Hamad International Airport and will become its signature scent. It will launch later this year and is designed to be an integral part of the consumer experience, as passengers will be able to smell the scent as they travel through the airport.

Talking about his company, he explained: “TFK is a Kuwait-based fragrance house that was born from my childhood and sensory experiences which I associated with the fond memories of my grandmother. It is now an essential part of the ongoing retail legend that I have created.

“Hamad International Airport is the perfect partner for TFK’s latest venture as both organisations share the common vision of excellence is everything we do. I am delighted that my latest creation has found the perfect new home for millions of HIA’s passengers to experience our products”.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive His Excellency Akbar Al Baker (pictured, centre, above) commented: “We are happy to be the hosts of this iconic unveiling ceremony and the first to house TFK’s exclusive products at Qatar Duty Free. We are proud to have internationally renowned brands like the Fragrance Kitchen custom making products exclusively for our airport, which is the perfect global stage to showcase products to the more than 30 million passengers who visit us from all over the world.”
