USA. Crystal – formerly Crystal Cruises – has announced extensive expansion plans as its largest vessel, Crystal Serenity, returns to service.
The company, which officially relaunched under the guardianship of A&K Travel Group on 31 July, is negotiating with European shipbuilders for four new ships: two classic and two expedition vessels. Crystal described its plans and relaunches as “heralding a new era of cruising”.
A&K Travel Group CEO Cristina Levis said: “We have ambitious growth plans for Crystal and are proud of what we have accomplished with the relaunch of Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony in just under a year following the purchase of the brand. We are now thrilled to formally announce that we will be growing our fleet and continue to offer the most exceptional cruising experiences in the industry.”

Crystal Serenity, which accommodates 740 guests, departed on its inaugural voyage from Marseille on 31 July following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment. The work included redesigned suites, speciality restaurants, improved public spaces and a new Aurōra spa concept.
Crystal Symphony is undergoing renovations and will resume service from Athens on 1 September.
