Beauty and fragrance house Guerlain, owned by LVMH, has teamed up with Turkish jeweller Begüm Khan for its 2023 holiday collection. The collection launched in global travel retail on 15 October.
Khan took inspiration from whimsical animal and plant motifs which include a peacock, snake, tiger and Guerlain’s bee emblem.
The collection features new packaging and shades from Guerlain’s Rouge G, Ombres G, Météorites and Terracotta lines.
Rouge G welcomes two new lipstick case designs: Glittery Tiger and Feline Fantasy. The first features velvet tiger stripes with holographic highlights while the second features a green and black leopard print. The jewelled cases house three new exclusive shades: N234 Roaring Red, N521 Flamingo Pink and N41 Untamed Garnet.

Ombres G has also been given a holiday makeover in the form of the limited-edition 879 Glittery Tiger Ombres G palette. The eyeshadow palette offers four vibrant shades: gold, satin, green and deep purple.
The Terracotta 03 bronzing powder has been reimagined with a leopard design, while the 2 Light Météorites Fierce Glow highlighter comes in a tortoise-inspired pot.

Guerlain’s packaging has been redesigned to feature a sparkling green ribbon with a jewelled bee brooch, designed by Khan.
It has also launched a limited-edition Beehive Advent Calendar which features vibrant floral illustrations as well as the sparkling green ribbon designed by Khan. The advent calendar offers candles, miniature perfume bottles, ceramics and cosmetics. Only 1,700 are available globally.
Guerlain Makeup Creative Director Violette Serrat said: “For me, nature is an endless source of inspiration. For this Christmas collection, I was inspired by Guerlain’s archives, and so I wanted to pay homage to the incredible beasts I found there. I wanted to give them a decorative, festive twist, a blend of opulent rhinestones, velvet, daring colours and leopard print…chic yet audaciously quirky. It’s all about daring and dreaming.”

The Exceptional Pieces

Khan reimagined Guerlain’s signature bee bottle in celebration of its 170th anniversary this year. Khan created two pieces, a Métier d’Art piece decorated with a radiant beetle and an Exceptional Piece for the Imagine Guerlain Christmas collection.
The former features a striking jewelled beetle that sits on the window of a one-litre Bee Bottle. The insect is surrounded by 440 paved crystals forming a rosette that marks the four cardinal points. The crystals sit on 24-carat gold-plated bronze. Each adornment is hand-crafted in the artist’s Istanbul atelier. Only 40 pieces are available globally.

The Imagine Guerlain 2023 Millésime bottle features an imperial bee, crafted with 37 hand-set paved gems. The bee sits at the heart of a golden flower in 24-carat gold-plated bronze. Only 4,515 pieces are available globally.
For L’Art & La Matière, Guerlain created five personalisation plates that feature different bejewelled animal motifs. These include the beetle, tortoise, tiger, frog and bee. Each plate is hand-crafted in Istanbul.
For Rouge G, Khan created a limited-edition jewelled lipstick case set with gems in the shape of a bee. 280 hand-placed gems feature in the golden case which houses three best-selling Rouge G shades: 880 Ruby Red, 03 Light Rosewood and 214 Brick Red. The lipstick case is housed in a velvet leopard-effect suede pouch. Only 250 sets are available globally. ✈
