FAB 2012 will be hosted by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and held at the prestigious Hotel Okura in the Dutch capital.

“We are delighted to welcome guests to Amsterdam and The Moodie Report’s 2012 Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards,” said HMSHost Chief Operating Officer Pat Banducci. “As a Platinum Sponsor of this event, we’ll greet guests with an Opening Cocktail party that showcases the best of Amsterdam’s hospitality – which we know well from our years of working in partnership with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

“We appreciate FAB’s focus on the core business of exceptional food & beverage in airports, which is so much of what makes the traveller’s day better.”

The second FAB Conference & Awards promises to be an extraordinary event. An esteemed centre for culinary excellence, the Okura won the 2010 Netherlands’ Leading Business Hotel Award at The World Travel Awards. It boasts the two Michelin-star French Ciel Bleu restaurant and the one-star traditional Japanese Yamazato restaurant.

The hotel also features a famous cocktail venue, the Twenty Third Bar, lauded for its outstanding beverage selection.

“We’re delighted to have HMSHost onboard as a Platinum Sponsor and organiser of the Opening Evening,” said The Moodie Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie. “This lays down an important marker in terms of the event’s stature and ambition.

“The first FAB Conference & Awards was a huge success, and we’re looking forward to an even bigger and better event in 2012. We are also delighted to partner with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, one of the world’s leading airport operators and a champion of excellence in food & beverage. We’re committed to promoting progress in travel-related F&B and to growing this event in a way that will advance both the consumer offer and the commercial opportunity worldwide.”

The Moodie Report is already well advanced in its planning for FAB 2012. David King has once again been appointed Convenor of Judges, and much thought has gone into fine-tuning the judging methodology. The award categories and criteria will be announced next month.
