US. HMSHost will bring more local flavour to Portland International Airport (PDX) with the opening of Screen Door, as part of a 10-year contract awarded by Port of Portland.
Due to open in 2021 in Concourse B, the much-loved restaurant forms part of the US$75 million contract awarded to HMSHost and joint venture partner Palazzo Concessions.
“We are excited to build on PDX’s long-standing relationship with HMSHost in welcoming this new and beloved local brand to the airport community,” said PDX Terminal Business and Properties Acting Director Shane Andreasen.
“Screen Door is a tourist destination all in itself, and HMSHost’s ability to deliver this landmark brand directly to PDX is going to delight our travellers and expand our distinctively Portland Sense of Place for years to come.”
Screen Door serves Southern fare with Pacific NW food values, emphasising local and organic produce. This will be the first airport location for the foodie destination.
“Screen Door is a destination in its own right, famously drawing crowds of locals who have been known to wait hours in line to savour the iconic comfort food. With this upcoming PDX opening, local and visiting travellers alike will have a new location right inside the airport to enjoy a taste of this restaurant that has shaped Portland’s booming culinary landscape,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Amy Dunne.
“HMSHost is grateful to the Port of Portland for teaming up with us to further enhance the dining experiences that keep PDX a top-ranked US airport.”
