
HONG KONG, CHINA. Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) served 3.8 million passengers in July, up +15% from the previous month amid the rising demand for international travel. The figure was still -43% behind July 2019 levels, according to latest data from Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK). HKIA is the Host of The Trinity Forum 2023 due to be held on 25-26 October.
July traffic figures jumped +848% against a low base in the same month in 2022, while aircraft movements doubled.

The daily average inbound and outbound passengers during the month exceeded 120,000, reaching 60% of the pre-pandemic level.

Flight movements stood at 24,030, representing a +7.4% increase from June.
The airport saw significant growth in all passenger segments compared to the same month last year amid the steady travel recovery. HKIA’s busiest destinations in July were Southeast Asia, Mainland China and Japan.
From January to July, the number of passengers at the airport amounted to 20.4 million, surging by more than 15 times from the low base registered in the same month last year. During the seven-month period, the airport handled 142,840 flights, up +94% year-on-year.


On a 12-month rolling basis, the airport served 24.8 million passengers, representing a ten-fold increase year-on-year. Aircraft movements jumped by +44.6% to 207,925. ✈
