Hot shopping summer comes to an end in Abu Dhabi

UAE. Abu Dhabi Duty Fee’s (ADDF) biggest ever promotion, Summer Adventure, concluded yesterday with a prize giving ceremony attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation in Abu Dhabi, and other senior officials.

A colourful ceremony at Abu Dhabi International airport included jugglers, stilt walkers, clowns and cartoon characters.

Sheikh Hamdan declared the promotion closed by conducting the last raffle draws worth AED million. Others who conducted the draws included Abdullah Abbad Al Hameli, assistant undersecretary of the Department of Civil Aviation; Khalid Al Muhairbi, airport director; Mohamed Mounib, managing director of ADDF; Mahfoud Al Harthi, regional general manager of Gulf Air; and Hani Gress, ADDF duty free manager.

Sheikh Hamdan toured the shopping complex and congratulated the management and sales team for their efforts in making the event a success. He thanked ADDF management for achieving a sales increase of +20% during the three month promotion (June to August inclusive).

The following prizes were awarded: a Peugeot 206cc convertible; a diamond jewellery set; two Rolex watches; a Smart car; Gold coins; One kilo of gold; Two first-class tickets on Gulf Air; AED 30,000 gift voucher; a Jet ski; and a Dune Buggy.
