Raelene Johnson joins Hotel Shilla in May |
SOUTH KOREA. Hotel Shilla has announced that Raelene Johnson will join its duty free division at the beginning of May, in the role of Vice President Merchandising, with responsibility for the core categories of fragrances, cosmetics, liquor and tobacco. She will be based in Singapore.
The highly regarded Ms Johnson joins from Nuance Australia, where she was responsible for the Buying & Merchandise functions for the retailer’s Australian duty free operations. Prior to that, Johnson worked at Burberry and DFS Group.
Hotel Shilla COO Mr Han commented: “We are very pleased to have Ms Johnson on our team. We are confident that her international expertise and seniority in the role will benefit our company and strengthen our ambitions in the industry.”
Ms Johnson’s appointment is likely a direct result of the recent appointment of former Nuance Group CEO Roberto Graziani as Board Member at The Shilla Duty Free parent company Hotel Shilla.
Graziani is leading the Merchandising Division in the definition of its strategic goals and in the development of its commercial relationship with its partners. He is also charged with driving Shilla’s global expansion in travel retail and its international business.
