USA. Travel experience company Hudson, part of Avolta, has been awarded a contract to operate nine additional retail and dining outlets at Omaha Eppley Airfield Airport in Nebraska.
The agreement will see Hudson’s footprint at the airport expand from 800sq m to 1,300sq m within a new terminal being developed as part of ‘Build OMA’, a multi-year expansion and modernisation plan focused on enhancing the consumer experience.
Hudson currently operates four travel convenience stores and a Hudson Booksellers at the existing terminal. The new outlets are set to open alongside the airport’s revamped terminal in 2027.
They will feature a mix of popular brands and locally inspired outlets, including Starbucks and three Hudson travel convenience stores, two of which will offer Omaha’s own Scooter’s Coffee.
An iPorte store will showcase top tech brands such as Apple, Beats and Bose, allowing travellers to test products in-store.
Omaha-themed offerings are set to highlight the region’s distinct character, with over 90 local artisans, including Made in Omaha, Local Makers Collective and Four Sisters Boutique to be featured.
Inspired by the historic Dundee neighbourhood, the 50th Street Market will offer a wide range of products, from Smoking Gun Jerky to Lulubee Artisan Chocolates.
Named after Omaha’s Blackstone District, Blackstone Supply will offer locally sourced goods, alongside a branch of The Bookworm, an independent bookstore.
In addition, Pitch Pizzeria will bring its local high-street menu flavours, complete with a full bar.
Each new Hudson space will feature local architectural influences and host community-centred events, such as Meet the Maker pop-ups, immersing travellers in Omaha’s creative culture.
Avolta President and CEO, North America Steve Johnson said: “We are tremendously proud to join Omaha Airport Authority in transforming Eppley Airfield into the best airport in the Midwest.
“Our expanded partnership will introduce new retail and dining options that truly enhance the passenger experience while celebrating Omaha’s unique culture. We look forward to this expanded partnership together to usher in the future of Eppley Airfield.”
