Ian Macleod Distillers fuels travel retail growth with enhanced portfolio at TFWA World Exhibition

FRANCE. Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) is set to present its latest premium spirits range at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Stand Bay Village 3).

One of Scotland’s leading independent, family-owned distillers, blenders and bottlers, IMD aims to drive growth in 2026 with its latest portfolio additions.

Ian Macleod Distillers Head of Global Travel Retail William Ovens said, “In the malt whisky category, IMD will highlight new expressions from three of the main whisky-producing regions: Speyside, The Highlands and The Lowlands.

“Our malt and gin expressions in the GTR portfolio have been picking up so many leading awards and critical acclaim in recent years, and we are confident that these new releases will continue this trend and really resonate with consumers.”

Tamdhu Cuatro Reserva 12 Year Old

Leading IMD’s global travel retail selection, Tamdhu Cuatro Reserva 12 Year Old (ABV 41.2%) is a new premium Speyside single malt, introducing sherry cask enthusiasts to the Tamdhu luxury range.

The whisky is matured exclusively in European oak first-fill oloroso sherry casks and aged in the distillery’s traditional dunnage warehouses in Speyside, Scotland.

Cuatro Reserva blends first-fill and refill oloroso sherry casks, with American oak’s fruitiness complementing the spiciness of European oak, and is priced at RRP£55/70cl (US$74).

Rosebank Single Malt Vintage Release III

The third in Rosebank’s travel retail-exclusive series, Vintage Release III (47.5% ABV) is a 33 Year Old 1991 Lowlands single malt, hand-selected from the rare cask archive.

Limited to just 350 bottles, this release allows collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece of Rosebank’s history and experience its signature spirit.

At RRP£3,900 (US$5,275/70cl), the single malt is defined by light, floral notes from triple distillation, balanced by oily richness from the worm tub condensers.

Extending the success of the first two editions, the new release is driving demand from collectors seeking the complete five-bottle travel retail-exclusive series.

Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt

J&G Grant’s Glenfarclas is set to make its Cannes debut after appointing IMD as its global travel retail distributor.

The channel launch features two expressions: Glenfarclas 11 Year Old 1L (RSP £49.99/US$68) and 16 Year Old 70cl (RSP £79.99/US$108).

At 46% ABV, the whiskies are natural in colour and non-chill filtered, unlike other domestic expressions.

The line-up also includes Glenfarclas 105 1L (RSP £69.99/US$95), renowned as the first-ever cask strength whisky release, and a Glenfarclas 35 Year Old 70cl (£765/US$1,035), alongside upcoming single cask releases.

Edinburgh Gin Liqueurs – Elevated Editions

Also headlining the IMD stand in Cannes is Edinburgh Gin, credited as the original flavoured gin, which will debut its first range of channel-exclusive liqueurs at the event.

Named the Elevated Editions, the range reimagines three of the brand’s bestselling flavours – Rhubarb & Ginger, Raspberry and Blood Orange & Ginger.

Bottled at 22% ABV, each liqueur is crafted to deliver a bolder, more intense flavour, with an RRP of £12 (US$16).

Edinburgh Gin’s identity has centred on gin liqueurs since its launch in 2010.

Ovens said: “Edinburgh Gin is the number one super-premium gin in UK travel retail and a star performer in our portfolio. We are extremely excited about introducing the new exclusive gin liqueur range, a first for the brand in the channel.

“TFWA Cannes is as important as ever for our business, and it’s exciting to return to our stunning new stand and terrace, Bay 3 in the Bay Village.”

IMD will host industry friends at its happy-hour event on the stand’s terrace, which overlooks the Cannes harbour at 17:30-18:30 on Monday 29 September to Wednesday 1 October.

IMD will once again support the Frontier Awards as Gin Sponsor this year.
