French beauty brand Lancôme has announced the launch of its new women’ s fragrance Idôle. American actress, singer and fashion authority Zendaya Coleman, named as Lancôme’s new face in February, will front Idôle’s marketing campaign.
The new fragrance will be available worldwide from 22 August, 2019 accompanied by major events across travel retail in September.
The scent was created by perfumers Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina, and Nadège Le Garlantezec. It is described as a ‘musky chypre floral fragrance’ and was designed to appeal to a new generation of Lancôme women. Idôle was made with sustainably sourced Isparta Rose Petal Essence and Centifolia Rose, balanced with notes of bergamot, accords of pear, and Indian Jasmine Grandiflorum.
The new bottle, designed by architect and industrial designer Chafik Gasmi, is one of the slimmest in the world at just 15mm. Not only does the bottle reflect the new ‘out-of-the-box vision of success’ embodied by Idôle and its muse Zendaya Coleman, it is also a tribute to echnical advances in the fragrance industry.
According to Lancôme Global Brand President Françoise Lehmann, Idôle is a launch that responds to changing consumer perspectives in the world of fragrance. He said, “We are excited to be able to create a fragrance for a new generation of women questioning the status quo, breaking free from tradition, and re-defining the meaning of success. Collective and beneficial for all women, this new confidence is inciting them to raise the bar a little higher every time. Idôle is a strategic launch for Lancôme and we are delighted to present it with Zendaya to the world.”
Idôle will be available from 22 August in refillable formats at 25 ml, 50 ml, and 75 ml. The new fragrance will also be accompanied in selected stores by a perfume fountain called ‘La Recharge’ and promoted across major travel retail events beginning mid-September.
