The organisation has shared pictures from a landmark meeting in Hanoi attended by its Director General Stefano Baronci and representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).

ACI said the meeting has “laid the groundwork for a robust cooperation” between the three organisations relating to the aviation industry in Vietnam, which will play host to this year’s Trinity Forum in Ho Chi Minh City (5-6 November).

A focus of the collaboration is to support ACV airports in the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme and assist in setting net-zero roadmaps in the future, “marking a significant milestone in our collective efforts to combat climate change”, ACI said.

“We look forward to enhanced cooperation with Vietnam as we continue to work towards a sustainable aviation industry.”

The CAAV was represented by Director General Mr Dinh Viet Thang, while ACV was led by Deputy General Director Mr Nguyen Duc Hung.

ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation programme was a key item on the meeting’s agenda

In a LinkedIn post, ACI referenced The Trinity Forum, which is it is jointly organising with The Moodie Davitt Report and ACI World: “It is no doubt that Vietnam is an exciting destination to host our next Trinity Forum in the charming Ho Chi Minh City on 5-6 November 2024.

“One of the top ten global civil aviation markets, Vietnam’s aviation industry is poised for a significant transformation, with full recovery anticipated by the end of 2024.”
