Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Strange Nature Gin from New Zealand, celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

VIETNAM. Today’s images, courtesy of IPP Travel Retail CEO Phillip Nguyen, capture the scale and progress of one of the aviation sector’s most exciting developments, Long Thành International Airport.

The images show a vast construction site but one that will soon house a gleaming, state of the art symbol of Vietnam’s exciting economic and aviation and travel emergence.

The new airport, sited approximately 40km east of Ho Chi Minh City is a US$13.3 billion mega project being developed over three construction phases. The first US$4.6 billion stage is due for completion in 2026.

The new airport will be a prime focus at The Trinity Forum to be held on 5-6 November in Ho Chi Minh City. IPP Travel Retail is co-hosting the event along with Airports Corporation of Vietnam.

As reported, Incheon International Airport Corporation was recently named the preferred bidder to deliver management consulting and support the operational readiness and airport transfer. The Korean airport company, which formed a joint venture with Vietnamese firm PMI Consulting Service Corporation, headed competition from France’s ADP and Germany’s Fraport.
