CHINA. Louis Vuitton is set for a towering debut in more ways than one when it enters the Hainan retail scene for the first time in coming months. As revealed, the powerhouse luxury brand is set to open a duplex store at the MixC Haikou high-end shopping mall as shown in the photos below shot by The Moodie Davitt Report at the weekend.

The Chinese local market retailer, owned by China Resources, first revealed the news on a social media post earlier this month.

MixC is highly regarded by luxury brands for the quality of its property estate and its approach to high-end retail.

In related news, Louis Vuitton also this month posted a recruitment ad (pictured right) on WeChat for employees in Sanya.

According to the post, the brand will open in Haitang Bay this September. Hainan sources told us Louis Vuitton will offer an interim duty paid store housed within Phase 2 of the cdf Sanya International Duty Free Complex. As reported, the brand company has declined to enter the Hainan offshore duty free market.

A permanent store is likely to be introduced in Phase 3, a joint venture between Swire Properties and CDF Investment & Development Co, a subsidiary of China Tourism Group Duty Free Corporation to develop a retail landmark in the heart of Haitang Bay National Coastal Recreation Park.  ✈
