UK. Today’s images from The Moodie Davitt Report Brands Director Hannah Tan portray an inspiring picture of empowerment and support in the fight against breast cancer as The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) held its annual Pink Ribbon event at its London headquarters last night (9 October).

The event was attended by long-time ELC The Breast Cancer Campaign Ambassador Elizabeth Hurley, who gave an impassioned speech about her 33-year journey with the movement.

“When I became the face of Estée Lauder in 1995, Evelyn Lauder approached me about helping with a new campaign,” said the actress and model.

“The way she introduced the campaign to me was something that has stayed with me ever since. She said: ‘Women all over the world are dying of breast cancer, and no one is talking about it. I want to change that.’

“Even today, there are parts of the world where breast cancer remains a taboo subject. That’s why from the beginning, our mission has been twofold: to raise awareness and to fund research.

“While I’m grateful for how far we’ve come, the fact remains that one in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and not everyone survives. Treatments and knowledge have improved immensely, but there’s still a long way to go.

The event was also attended by ELC UK & Ireland Senior Vice President Pernilla Nyberg alongside Breast Cancer Campaign Ambassadors Dr Zoe Williams, GirlsvsCancer Founder Lauren Mahon, South Asian Supernovas Co-Founder Kreena Dhiman and Black Women Rising Founder Leanne Pero.

The Moodie Davitt Report is once again proud to be supporting ELC’s annual Breast Cancer Campaign, now in its 33rd year.
