Images of the Day: Travel retailers celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival and Chuseok

Our regular feature celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

Today is Mid-Autumn Festival (also Moon Festival; 中秋节 in Chinese) in China, an occasion also celebrated widely across Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. It is China’s second-most important festival (after the Lunar New Year), a time for families to reunite and offer thanks to the moon goddess Chang’e (嫦娥).

Mid-Autumn Day falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month and is celebrated under a full moon.

The occasion is known as Chuseok in the Republic of Korea, also a time when families gather together to give thanks to their ancestors for an abundant autumn harvest. Below we show how some leading Chinese, Korean and other travel retailers are highlighting the occasion on social media.
