UK. Anticipation is building for The Trinity Forum due to be held in London next month.
The pioneering conference, to be held in London on June 18-20, is the first industry event to involve all three points of the travel retail “trinity” – landlords, retailers and suppliers – and will focus on a fundamental review of the industry’s structure.
Despite the industry’s recent challenges, including the Iraq war and SARS, the event is set to be a major success, according to the organisers, Moodie International and Marshall Lightfoot.
“We’re expecting an audience of between 170 and 200 people, drawn from all around the world and all sectors of the travel retail business,” said Marshall Lightfoot director Peter Marshall. “There is a cautious optimism in the trade that the second half of 2003 will see a modest recovery and that is reflected in our increased bookings in recent weeks. With other events having been cancelled, such as the China and Singapore shows, it’s the first major opportunity for the industry to get together as an industry for some time.”
Some of the world’s leading airports, retailers and brand companies are included in the speaking line-up.
So far registered participants are coming from 20 countries, including Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Iceland, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UAE, the UK and the US.
