AUSTRALIA. LagardèreAWPL has partnered with Mercurius Group and AI Consulting Group to develop and implement what the retailer called an industry-leading AI trial at Aelia Duty Free Adelaide Airport.
Starting this month, travellers arriving and departing from Adelaide Airport will be able to chat with LagardèreAWPL’s AI-powered liquor specialist, ‘Atlas’ to receive personalised liquor recommendations based on their unique tastes and preferences.
LagardèreAWPL Chief Operating Officer Nik West said of the trial: “We are always looking for ways to elevate service in-store and believe this new tool will support our team to provide even more personalised recommendations for travellers.

The learnings we get will be invaluable to understanding how AI can elevate service across the full breadth of Travel Retail stores we operate.”

Travellers can chat with Atlas by scanning the QR codes found in-store from today (2 March) until the end of May when the trial ends. With just a few words, Atlas can suggest liquor products from global icons and local favourites matched to flavour profiles, cocktail recipes and more. ✈
