Champagne Lanson has refreshed its Le Black Label to introduce Le Black Création, a name which reflects the tailored work behind each expression.
Le Black Création will be highlighted by Champagne Lanson at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, 2-5 October (Blue Village C8).
Each Création will feature a number in reference to harvests that have taken place since the Champagne house was founded in 1760. A QR code on the back label is designed to encourage consumers to learn about the production of multi-vintage Brut.
Based on the 2017 harvest, Le Black Création 257 blend is dominated by Pinot Noir (51%), Chardonnay (36%) and Meunier (13%). In addition to this year’s wines, Champagne Lanson Cellar Master and Winemaker Hervé Dantan has drawn a selection of reserve wines from Lanson’s collection, making up 45% of the final blend.
“Recreating the finest expression of the Lanson style with each harvest is a duty of memory and a challenge that requires creativity and humility towards nature,” Dantan said. “Each Création is unique and writes a new page in our story, one that we share with the utmost transparency.”
According to Lanson, which partners with major travel retailers including Lagardère Travel Retail, Gebr. Heinemann, Dufry, Dubai Duty Free and Tallink, Le Black Création will replace Le Black Label as stocks run out. The Champagne house will organise staff training to ensure brand ambassadors can talk to travellers about the cuvée with confidence.
