Inver House launches whisky fit for a king – 11/05/07

UK. Inver House Distillers and North Highland Products have launched the first ever North Highland blended malt scotch whisky, Barrogill, as part of the Mey Selections range of food and drink products.

Barrogill is blended from single malts that were personally selected by HRH Prince Charles, who launched the North Highland Initiative from which the Mey brand has grown. It is said to have a full-bodied, floral and fruity aroma with a sweet and spicy flavour. The bottle features a watercolour of Barrogill Castle – where the whisky takes its name from – that was painted by the Prince himself.

“This is a landmark for the whisky industry in the North Highlands and for lovers of fine whisky around the world,” said North Highland Products Managing Director Dr John Strak. “Inver House has blended some great malts and added a serious piece of history to produce a drink that evokes all that is memorable about the far north of Scotland. A taste of far north, tradition, a royal heritage, and a guaranteed provenance that no other blended malt can match.”

Barrogill is available in the UK (retail price £19.99) and is being distributed in export markets around the world.
