ISG Hong Kong wins Dragonair supply contract and extends agreement with Cathay Pacific – 08/05/07

Tony Detter: Delighted with contracts

HONG KONG. In a major boost to its regional business, ISG Hong Kong has been awarded a five-year contract to supply Dragonair with its inflight duty free range and provide related services.

The agreement starts with the Hong Kong-based carrier’s 1 July programme. ISG Hong Kong has already begun working with the supplier community in putting together the first joint programme with Dragonair. Similar to the company’s arrangement with sister carrier Cathay Pacific, ISG will have responsibility for the key areas of product sourcing, marketing, logistics, and flight attendant motivation.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Dragonair, and believe we are a perfect match for them,” commented ISG Managing Director Tony Detter. “We have a proven track record in servicing Cathay Pacific, and understand very well the markets in which it operates from our mainland Chinese airline business.

“Dragonair offers a tremendous opportunity for growth as it further expands and fully leverages the synergies with partner airline Cathay Pacific.” Around one-third of the programme will carry new listings when it is introduced in July, said ISG.

Hong Kong-based Dragonair, a member of the Cathay Pacific Group, is an award-winning, full-service airline operating passenger services to 30 destinations across Asia, including 21 cities in Mainland China.

Additionally, ISG Hong Kong has been awarded a new contract with Cathay Pacific, continuing the long-running partnership (which began in 2000) until 2012. Detter told The Moodie Report: “We have had great success working with Cathay in raising their sales significantly in the last few years as you know, and are looking forward to continuing to do so through further innovation in the product offering.”

Cathay Pacific won The Moodie Report’s first-ever Travel Retail Website of the Year Award in October last year.
